The Wiki is a good place to start. It lists some old QuickBasic books that used Interrupts and the Type structure for them.

Well badger I hope you have successful and quick recovery. I hear more bad stories about back surgery than good, maybe I should say, "I remember more cautionary tales than good." You know com ports work is very interesting, perhaps a subject area I regret not knowing anything useful. I never got into that subject in old days back in 90's with QB and early VB. I even was inpsired by CNC machines being run on Basic through Com port communications at that time. Guess my main area of interest has always been in graphics though not 3D as much. For CNC lathes (that I programmed and ran back then) you basically were doing 2D graphics ie, profiles of round parts. But com ports can be used for hooking up any kind of gear from printers, telephones?, camera's, door bells alarms, robots... the list is endless. So badger keep us updated, if you would, with your progress in com ports, please!
